I started Coventry Cars back in 1993, originally selling Jaguars and other European vehicles — the name “Coventry” came from that early focus.
Now, more than 30 years later, I’m proud of how far we’ve come. We’ve sold over 30,000 vehicles and built a strong customer base, with more than half of our monthly sales coming from repeat or referred buyers. That loyalty means a lot to us.
Our focus has always been simple: quality vehicles, fair prices, and looking after people properly. I believe quality is the key to long-term success in this business — and that’s been our foundation from day one.
In 2017, we opened Wellington’s first and largest dedicated EV and Hybrid centre. The goal was to offer the best selection backed by service people could rely on — and I’m proud of the team and what we’ve built there.
We’re a seven-day-a-week business, but we’ve always kept our values family-focused. That’s reflected in our team culture and long staff retention — we support each other, especially around family commitments.
My wife Donna is still actively involved in the business, and while our three children are now grown, family remains at the centre of everything we do.
